2018 Post Stock Risers
Now it is time to evaluate the big men in the 2018 class. We start off with an examination of the posts that have helped their stock the most this season.
C Ryan Davis (Conant)
Previous Rank: #12
Current Rank: #9
Davis decided at the last minute to commit and sign with Vermont in the early signing period. Wow did they get a steal! Davis has been one of the most dominating players in the state as a senior. He is in the best shape of his career and it is paying off with his play above the rim with big slams and huge rebounding numbers. Carves out space on the interior and knows how to score on the block.
PF Dusan Mahorcic (Niles Notre Dame)
Previous Rank: #62
Current Rank: #21
Mahorcic has elevated his game as a senior. He moved over to the US less than two years ago and is starting to come into his own. His breakout game was against Carmel where he went for 34 points, 22 rebounds, and 10 blocks. The big man has caused a buzz with his production as a senior. Low-major and D2 programs are closely monitoring him.
PF Terrence Shannon (Lincoln Park)
Previous Rank: NR
Current Rank: #32
Shannon burst onto the scene at the Hinsdale Central holiday tournament. The 6’6” lefty really opened our eyes with his ability to handle the ball at his size as well as shoot it from the perimeter. Shannon bombed in deep threes pulling up. Runs the floor and rebounds at a solid clip. Might have to go the JUCO route, but if he doesn’t low-major programs and high D2s should keep close tabs on his progress the last two months of the season.
PF Cameron Burrell (Morgan Park)
Previous Rank: #110
Current Rank: #33
Burrell has had a monster senior campaign. The 6’6” forward has embraced his role as an athletic undersized four man that brings energy to the table. He has an explosive second jump that allows him to get on the offensive glass for second chance opportunities. Athleticism around the rim to get boards and finish. Defensively he can block some shots. Burrell isn’t very skilled, but produces with his motor. D2 prospect.
C Joey Saracco (Bolingbrook)
Previous Rank: NR
Current Rank: #79
Saracco stands at 6’7” and plays his role on a guard oriented Bolingbrook squad. He rebounds well within his area. The senior has a soft touch around the rim on his touches. He has definitely put himself on the small college radar with his play as a senior.
