Who was the PrepHoopsIllinois Player of the Week?  We have an outstanding group of nominees this week.  Make sure you vote for your favorite through Wednesday night!   Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon) The Iowa State commit showed the boys down in Texas what Chicago basketball is all about as the versatile forward went for 40 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 dimes in their 85-64 win over Highland Park.   Ayo Dosunmu (Morgan Park) The Illini commit went off for one of the biggest games of his career last Thursday dropping 51 points, 11 assists, and 6 steals in a win over Kenwood.   Tyler Cochran (Bolingbrook) Bolingbrook’s star junior guard wasn’t for sure if he was even going to play with an injury in their rivalry game against Romeoville, but he was the best player on the floor going for 19 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals in their 83-62 win.   Malcolm Miller (Shelbyville) Miller poured in 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds on Tuesday night in the Rams win.  In this game the central Illinois wing recorded his 1,000 career point and is only a junior.   Morgan Taylor (Marist) Taylor is the heart and soul of Marist this year.  The point guard had a huge 30 point, 4 rebound, 4 assist effort in a 67-55 win over Mt. Carmel.   Damond Crosby (Salem) This senior small forward came up huge to get the Wildcats their first conference win of the season against Wesclin as he dropped 30 points in an OT victory.   Dusan Mahorcic (Niles Notre Dame) This sleeper 2018 post had the game of his career Friday night against Carmel going for 34 points, 22 rebounds, and 10 blocks against Carmel.   Mohammed Alausa (Chicago U-High) Alausa is a tough nosed defensive wing that showed off his offensive repertoire against Hope Friday night as he had 32 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals.   Dante Maddox (Bloom) Bloom is a young team that got a huge win against Homewood Flossmoor.  They were led by this sophomore scoring guard who had a huge performance going for 34 points in the victory.   EJ Liddell (Belleville West) Liddell was a beast in his team’s game against East St. Louis.  He came up huge with 30 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 blocks on the big stage with national scouts in attendance and going up against one of his fellow top 5 prospects in 2019.   Ethan Schuemer (Willowbrook) Schuemer is an uber skilled four man that posted a triple double in their win over Hinsdale South.  He went for 20 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 blocks.  Also scored his 1,000 point of his career in this game.
