Week 3: Games of the Week
We have highlighted the games of the week for week 3. There are a number of top games. However, the game of the week for this week is Pinnacle vs. Mesa. Both teams look like they are headed for a state championship run. With that said, there are plenty of other games to be excited about.
Week 3: Games of the Week
Catalina Foothills vs. Cienega
Catalina Foothills and Cienega were both on the watch list for their respective classifications. Both teams have played well early as they head into what might end up being a battle for the best team in Tucson. Catalina Foothills has played shorthanded recently with Sam Beskind sitting due to injury. However, if Beskind is at full strength, this should be a quality match-up between two stout guards with Cienega bringing Jordan Green. Green has been incredible early on as he is averaging nearly 23 points and 5 assists per game.
Players to Watch:
Catalina Foothills: Sam Beskind, Carson James, and Spencer Lewis
Cienega: Jordan Green and Breven Burnett
Williams Field vs. McClintock
Williams Field has had a solid start with wins over Perry and Arcadia. Last year, Williams Field finished second in their region to Mesquite. Both Mesquite and Williams Field look poised to be the lead candidates for a region title in that region once again. Nick Cupp has been leading the way for this group early.
McClintock came off of an unexpected loss to Campo Verde and beat a tough Paradise Valley team. McClintock is loaded with young talent with two of those players being knockdown shooter Josh Baker and Armani Williams Armani Williams 6'1" | SG McClintock | 2020 State AZ . Baker makes the team go due to his ability to score the basketball from deep and improved ability to finish at the rim.

Poston Butte vs. Maricopa
Poston Butte has surprised many en route to their 6-0 start. Their most recent win was arguably the most impressive as they beat Campo Verde who recently topped one of the top 5A teams in the state, McClintock. With that said, Maricopa will be their biggest challenge to date. Poston Butte has been led by Kevin Johnson, Jacob Motley, and Pierce Anderson. However, they have yet to play a guard like Josh Johnson of Maricopa. Johnson can score the basketball as well as any guard in the state and will be an absolute handful for Poston Butte.

Poston Butte: Kevin Johnson, Jacob Motley, Pierce Anderson
Maricopa: Josh Johnson
Cholla vs. Buena
Cholla is off to the top of start that many anticipated as Marcel Dean has been solid early on. His ability to score and create for his teammates has made Cholla quite dangerous. Furthermore, they meet up with yet another tough Tucson school in Buena. Buena is also talented at the point guard position with Dominic Mooney running the show. It should be a fun match-up between two of the best guards in Tucson.

Buena: Dominic Mooney, Cyrus Thomas, and Kino Bellinger
Week 3: Game of the Week
Pinnacle vs. Mesa
Nico Mannion is officially back which amplifies this match up that much more. Mesa is coming off of a win over Red Mountain and looks poised to be a top five team in the state for 6A with Mark Hatch running the show. Hatch and Mannion will obviously be relied upon heavily on this game. However, the X-Factors for both teams will most likely play the biggest dividends. Look for Jordan Mains and Trent Brown, if he is back from injury, to be big factors for Pinnacle and Zach Hobbs as well as Xavier Fuller for Mesa.
