DeMatha Catholic Stags HS. Hyattsvile, MD.
The Host DeMatha Stags went 2-0 in the Hoopfest cruising to an easy win over Oakridge HS & downing Archbishop Wood. Both teams were nationally ranked in some HS polls prior the games. DeMatha is now ranked #14 in the nation by Max Preps with a 3-0 record. The Stags play WCAC rival St. Johns tonight @ 7:30 in a huge away game.
For DeMatha in their 84-69 win over Oak Ridge, Co-MVP’s Soph Earl Timberlake Jr. w/21pts 9reb & Jr. Justin Moore w/25pts 5-5 from 3, Jr. Jahmir Young w/15pts 3asts & Soph Hunter Dickinson w/12pts 6asts. For Oak Ridge Sr. Emmitt Williams led the w/21pts 9reb, Sr. Robin Perry w/17pts & Sr. Antwann Jones w/12pts 6reb in the loss.
DeMatha defeated highly touted Archbishop Wood HS (PA) 80-70 last Sunday. For DeMatha MVP 7’0″ Soph Hunter Dickinson (left) led w/18pts 7reb, Jr. Justin Moore w/15pts 6reb 4asts 3 treys, Soph Earl Timberlake Jr. w/14pts & Jr. Jahmir Young w/13pts 5 asts Archbishop Wood 6’3″ Sr. Tyree Pickron (Quinnipiac) had 25 pts 6 treys & 6’4″ Sr. Andrew Funk (Bucknell) had 25 pts 4 treys 4stls in the loss. the DeMatha triangle is led by 7’0″ 2020 C Hunter Dickinson who has made huge strides this off-season & is deservedly ranked @ #7 in the nation for 2020. He is strong, & he is very mobile in the post with an array of moves with a quick 1st jump.. He shut down Oak Ridge & Archbishop Wood in the paint. Justin Moore (right) is back fom his knee injury & will be a 5 star in the near future. He has added many new parts to his game & is an excellent all around player. 2020 CF Earl Timberlake is on the brink of becoming a 5 star. He can play & defend 5 positions. 6’1″ 2019 PG/CG Jahmir Young has broken out & should enter the national rankings.

Paul VI Panthers, Fairfax,VA. The Panthers defeated nationally ranked Wesleyan Christian 75-68, but lost to highly rated Oak Ridge HS 73-70 on a buzzer beater on 12-10. Brandon Slater, Jeremy Roach, Myles Lattimer had big games. In the loss to Oak Ridge Ridge for Paul VI freshmen Trevor Keels led w/23pts 4 treys, Soph Jeremy Roach (right) w/16 pts 6 asts & Sr Brandon Slater (Villanova) w/15 pts 12 reb 3 blks in the loss. Trevor Keels (6’4″, 2021 G) is one of the best freshmen in the nation. For Oak Ridge Sr Emmitt Williams won MVP w/19 pts 9 reb, all but 1 reb in the 2nd half, Jr Kaleb Coleman w/21 pts 4 treys & Sr. Robin Perry w/11 pts 3 treys in the win.

For Holy Spirit Soph Anthony Edwards led w/23pts 3 treys, Sr. Kimani Johnson w/17pts 9reb, Sr. Georgii Maslennikov (Depaul) w/16pts 9reb & Jeremiah Michaiah w/13pts 7asts in the loss. On Saturday Cam scored 32 points which included 6-10 from 3 in the Westtown 79-77 loss to Georgetown Prep. Cam was Co MVP of tourney with IMG PF Silvio DeSousa. he will start from day 1 at Duke.
