Top Performers: King at Hillsborough
Hillsborough did its best to slow down King on Friday night in a 57-34 home victory.
The Terriers held the Lions to 17 points apiece in each half. Senior Hillsborough guard Myles Cowart led all scorers with 18 points.
Here are the top performers on the night.
Myles Cowart (Hillsborough)
The senior guard flashed his skills all night with 18 points. He had 11 points in the first half, including eight in the opening quarter. Cowart displayed good patience and floor stretching ability. He was the most dominant player on the court despite going cold in the second half.
Chris Romkey (King)
The junior guard led the Lions in points with 13. 11 of his points came at the free throw line. Romkey attaches often and really paced the floor well. He was the best athlete for the Lions.
Christian De Leon (Hillsborough)
Only six points came on the night for the junior guard but he made a point of dribbling past defenders and dishing out key assists. De Leon is speedy and has ridiculous ball skills.
Tony Ware III (King)
All five of Ware’s points came in the third quarter. He went to the rack on consecutive possessions. Ware failed to make an impact early but with some room to run, he has a nice burst.
Warren McLymont (Hillsborough)
Rebounding was McLymont’s best friend on the night. The junior forward was a big reason why the Terriers won the battle on the boards. He added six points, all coming in the third quarter.
