TOC: Briley Bro’s and Co take down Kingston
Early in the first half Wright City trailed by up to 14 points to Kingston, but they never gave up. They kept chipping away at Kingston and went on a big run to end the first half after Jacob Germany exited the game in foul trouble. Wright City picked up right where they left off in the first half in the second and dominated play in the second half of the consolation championship. Kingston got into foul trouble late in the game and could not recover. Wright City won the game 80-69.
Briley Brothers Dominate the Second Half
Robert Briley 2018 Wright City Wing
Robert Briley was his typical self for Wright City in the consolation championship game. Roberts was a beast athletically for the Lumberjax. He soared for rebounds and shot the ball well against Kingston and despite foul trouble still played the entire game. He shot 10-16 from the court and finished the game with 27 points and 8 rebounds.
CJ Briley 2019 Wright City Wing
CJ Briley had his best game of the season. Normally playing second fiddle to his brother, Briley showed his abilities on the court. He used his length and sized to grab rebounds and he attacked the basket with vigor causing Kingston to foul him. Briley was a genius from the free-throw line, hitting 14-16 of his free-throws. Briley finished the game with 25 points and 7 rebounds.
Lowe Bright in Loss
Stoney Lowe 2018 Kingston Guard had himself a game in their loss to Wright City. Lowe was bright despite Kingston’s rough second half performance. He shot the ball well hitting 70% of his shots and 66% of his threes. Lowe finished the game with 18 points.
Wright City Defense
Wright City played good defense throughout the game. The Lumberjax forced Kingston to turn the ball over 15 times with constant pressure. They came in with a good gameplay and frustrated Jacob Germany. They were either forcing Germany to pass or fouling him before he could shoot the ball, but it limited his production. They double and even triple teamed Germany at times throughout the game.
Germany Foul Trouble
Jacob Germany 2019 Kingston Post was the best player on the court but found himself in foul trouble throughout the game. Germany only played 25 minutes and fouled out late in the game. He was guarded tightly and struggled to produce on the offensive end. He played good defense but was the subject of some questionable calls from the refs. He fought through double and triple teams all night and finished the game with 9 points and 7 rebounds.
