Tennessee Prep Crushes Heritage (SC), 99-67
Tennessee Prep Academy split their weekend, losing first to Lincoln Academy Friday, but cruising over South Carolina’s 99-67.
As usual, Antavion Collum lead the TPA Diplomats with 20 points. A day after securing a Nicholls State offer the junior dominated all over the floor. He showed off his court vision, his scoring ability, and a bizarre athleticism at 6-foot-8.
Thin sharpshooting lefty Traizon Byrd (AL) pumped in 20 points too. He is really finding his groove with the team. For a team that has so many impressive slashers it is encouraging to see the unselfish play that typically involves Byrd. When the ball moves quickly both Byrd and teammates get more open looks.
Recent transfer Brandon Nicholas scored 14 points in the victory. Tyrese Patterson also dumped in 14 points.
The TPA team has two New Yorkers and they both helped in the scoring column. Nasair Holland gave 10 points to the cause, while Todd Greene scored five points late.
Thomas Gilmore scored six points.

The victory was a nice bounceback win after TPA suffered a discouraging 80-70 loss the night before. Next up the TPA High School team heads to New York. They are involved in the NYC Super 16 Showcase and will compete in three games in three days: The Park School, St. Benedict’s, JFK.
