Ten Best: Twin Lakes vs. Frankfort
In a game that didn’t feature much offense, Twin Lakes finally pulled away in the fourth quarter. Both teams struggled to get shots to fall going a combined 4-for-27 from deep. Twin Lakes held the advantage the whole game getting out to an early 12-0 lead and taking a 20-18 lead into halftime. They scored 21 points in the fourth to clinch a spot in the 5th place game with a 54-43 win over Frankfort. Here are the stats from the game: Twin Lakes vs. Frankfort
MVP – Joel Quasebarth |2018 | 6’3 G
The senior guard seemed to be able to get into the lane with ease scoring 11 points. He struggled a bit from the field when he wasn’t in the lane but did make 3-of-5 free throws. All-around solid offensive game.
Best offensive player – Alex Siegfried | 2018 | 6’ G
Siegfried easily used his quickness to get into the paint for Frankfort as he took the ball at the top of the key and drove around his defender. All of his shots made came in the paint and he scored 18 points. Settled for three-pointers too often though.
Best defensive player – Owen Crowel | 2018 | 6’ G
Crowel plays a lot bigger than his 6’ frame. He continuously jumped passing lanes and got hands on balls. Could have had more than two steals but was just an overall great defender in this one.
Best bench player – Noah Dubree | 2018 | 5’11 G
Dubree came off the bench and contributed eight points and also an assists and a couple steals. He was the guard that came in once Frankfort got into foul trouble. Dubree is a small guard that will contribute a little in every category.
Best under-the-radar guy – Tyler Jordan | 2020 | 6’3 G/F
Jordan is a really interesting sophomore. He is long and lanky and should grow a bit more. Only scored two points but I thought that he played really well. Didn’t make many mistakes and was the glue guy when he was out on the court.
Best energy guy – Damon Moore | 2018 | 6’5 PF
Moore was the guy that barked out all the instructions to his teammates on the defensive end. Moore was the guy who pumped his team up and when he was out there you could tell the energy was higher.
Best guy I didn’t know before – Ethan Luzadder | 2019 | 6’4 G
Luzadder is a really interesting guy for Twin Lakes. A tall sophomore guard who rebounds and gets to the rim is always nice to have and Luzadder does all of that really well. Got into foul trouble early and still had six points and eight boards.
Best rebounder – Michaiah Galvin | 2019 | 6’2 SF
Galvin tied for the lead with eight rebounds. He is a perimeter player but he crashes the boards really hard. He’s an agile forward that has a thick body who really can throw around his weight when
Best coaching decision – Twin Lakes going to a 1-3-1 zone
Twin lakes went to a 1-3-1 zone in the first and second half at times and forced Frankfort to shoot it from the corners. A great idea as Frankfort went 2-of-19 from deep in the game
Best play – Siegfried takes it to the hole to end the first
At the end of the first quarter, Frankfort was struggling and needed a spark. Siegfried had the ball at the top of the key and drove in making a floater. It gave them a spark after struggling from the field in the first quarter.
