Scouting Reports: Brownsburg vs. Culver
It was a slow starting game that Brownsburg dominated from the very beginning. They played really good defense and forced Culver into bad shots. The score at the half was just 25-13 as Brownsburg held Culver to two points in the second quarter. Culver made it interesting as they battled back and got it to an eight point game but couldn’t get any closer in the second half. Brownsburg took the win 44-31. Maleek Edmonds led all players with 13 points. View the complete stats here: Brownsburg vs. Culver
Brownsburg
Cameron Alford | 2019 | 6’2 PG
Alford got to the rim with ease tonight and played a really solid game. He set the tone for the Bulldogs and dished out three assists and had two steals. Alford was really good on defense and was a guy that Brownsburg needs if they are going to be great this year.
Pierce Thomas | 2021 | 6’3 SG
Thomas isn’t the guy that’s going to score a lot this year, although he does have the moves if he wanted to. His only made basket was a three-pointer and he took three of them. Other than that, he didn’t really do that much as he was in foul trouble but played really good defense in the zone.
Maleek Edmonds | 2020 | 6’6 PF
Edmonds is having a coming out year. He is playing really well and is scoring points. Led the game with 13 points and had a clean sheet as far as turnovers go. He can step outside and hit the shot and he was 6-for-6 on free throws. Edmonds is an interesting guy who will jump on radars if he grows anymore.
Gunnar Reffeitt | 2019 | 6’1 SG
Reffeitt is a shooter that comes off the bench to fit in a role and he fits in that role really, really well. He can shoot it pretty well from deep and just doesn’t make any mistakes. He hustles and grabbed a few offensive rebounds due to his hustle. A small college prospect next year.
Culver Academies
Trey Galloway | 2020 | 6’4 SG
Galloway really, really struggled in this game and did not look good at all. He struggled shooting it from deep and missed all seven he took from out there. Galloway is a tall projectable player who is going to be really good at the next level. Just really struggled with the speed of Brownsburg.
Ethan Brittain-Watts | 2019 | 6’2 SG
Like Galloway, Brittain-Watts really struggled shooting the ball. He made 1-of-6 from deep and scored 10 points. He was pretty good on defense though getting four steals but couldn’t really ever get in a groove on the offensive end. Brittain-Watts only had two turnovers which was really good though against the Brownsburg speed.
Nick Hittle | 2020 | 6’8 C
Hittle is an interesting sophomore. He’s a huge body inside and really built. I would have liked to have seen a little more offense out of him as he only took two shots but Galloway and Brittain-Watts are such a big part of the offense he really can’t. An interesting guy who’ll will be worth keeping an eye on.
