Recruiting Spotlight: 2019 Anton Mozga
Anton Mozga, a 6-foot-5 junior wing-type, is one of many reasons why Notre Dame (Riverside) is one of the more intriguing teams in this 2017-18 season. A transfer out of West Valley, Mozga brings a lot of versatility to the Titan line-up that compliments the rest of the roster. “This team is really coming along, especially in the area of developing team chemistry.” In terms of what Mozga brings to the table was fully exhibited during various fall leagues.
“I’m a position-less player that can excel at the 1, 2, or 3. I play hard at both ends, can score at the rim or the mid-range area and I’ll hit the glass as well,” explains Mozga. The 6-foot-5 junior has a nice frame, good athleticism, and possesses a potent pull-up game. With most young players, there is always room for improvement.
Mozga is a major sleeper in the So-Cal 2019 class.“I definitely have to improve my ball handling against pressure and the consistency of my jump shot out to the 3-point stripe.
“In addition, defensively my on-ball defense (sliding my feet) and playing in the passing lanes could improve as well,” added Mozga.
Despite the areas of growth that Mozga is looking to improve upon, there are a host of schools monitoring his progress including Cal State Fullerton, UC Irvine, and Boise State. “ I visited Cal State Fullerton recently, “ noted Mozga.
With an evolving skill, a solid frame that shows upside, and a reported 3.5 grade point average, Mozga’s college interest should increase during his junior campaign.
