Recruiting Report: Terrence Hargrove (2019)
East St. Louis 2019 small forward Terrence Hargrove is the #3 overall prospect in the 2019 class in the state of Illinois. He is an uber athletic 6’5” forward that plays with a high activity level being very effective getting on the offensive glass for put backs. Tenacious rebounder and defensive presence. His skill set is coming along. We saw him early in the season drill five shots from beyond the arc. Hargrove is a high-major prospect. He chatted with us about the early season and recruiting.
How is it going as a junior this season?
“I think I am doing a great job leading my team and scoring. I am the face so I have to do all I can to do help our team win.”
East St. Louis lost Jeremiah Tilmon to graduation, but picked up a big piece inside in Old Dominion commit Joe Reece.
“Me and Joe are clicking really well. We have a bond. As soon as he got to the school we had a bond together on the court.”
The most evident improvement in his game is the confidence he has shooting it from three.
“It took a lot of hard work during the summer to work on my ball handling and getting a lot of shots up day in and day out. I want to perfect my shot so it can become better.”
Right now he holds offers from Mizzou, New Mexico, Illinois State, St. Louis, and Cleveland State. He broke down a few of those programs with us.
New Mexico
“We talk every day all the time. They ask me how the season and team is doing.”
Mizzou
“They are good. I am going down there December 16. They invited my whole family to come down there so we are going to go see Jeremiah Tilmon play.”
SLU
“I watch all their games and try to watch them all the time on TV.”
Any visits coming up other than Mizzou?
“I want to go New Mexico. We are making a visit with them sooner or later just have to find a time. Cleveland State I hope to visit. We have already visited Illinois State and St. Louis. We are going to be visiting more soon.”00
