Recruiting Report: Noah Smith (2019)
Noah Smith – 6’2” | G | EG10 2019 | Hamilton Southeastern High School
Junior guard Noah Smith is off and running early this year. He has put up great numbers and lead Hamilton Southeastern to a big time against Fort Wayne North Side ( https://twitter.com/PrepHoopsTony/status/937165829279449088 ). Not only is Smith putting up numbers, he’s doing it efficiently effectively. Noah plays with EG10 on the Adidas Circuit and is starting his third year with the Royals of Hamilton Southeastern.
Noah Smith is one of the best, if not the best, on-ball defender in the state. He is lighting quick with his feet and uses his chest and upper body strength well to get guards off balance with the ball. Smith anticipates passes and offenses extremely well. His high basketball IQ is apparent because he is able to turn film sessions into great performances on the defensive end, including a game with nine steals earlier this season ( https://twitter.com/PrepHoopsTony/status/936790168769404928 ).
Smith has always been a willing and able defender but he has continued to work on every aspect of his game. He has major leaps in his offensive game and leadership in the offseason. Noah leads a team of outstanding basketball players at Hamilton Southeastern both vocally and with his play.
He is an underrated athlete and has also grown since last season. He brings good length to the guard position and doesn’t seem to play outside of himself on offense. Noah looks more comfortable hitting the long ball and has been great attacking the basket this year with both hands.
Smith has been receiving interest from Ball State University, IUPUI, Lipscomb University, and Indiana Wesleyan University. “I just picked up interest from Bowling Green, UNC Greensboro and Southeast Missouri State University”.
With the way that he has been aggressively attacking the basket, locking down on defense, and leading this Royals team early in the season, he will start seeing more schools get in the mix shortly.
He has the ability to completely dominate a game with his defensive presence and is one of the better shot blocking guards because of his positioning. He is also one of the best rebounding guards in the Class of 2019.
Noah Smith is a prospect that many people need to get on their radar’s as he looks to break out of the “under-the-radar” envelope this season. The junior guard can do it all and is a triple-double threat every night.
