Recruiting Report: Dravon Clayborn (2018)
Niles North 2018 Dravon Clayborn is a 6’1” point guard with length and has good muscle tone in his arms. Plays with feel for the game and can really shoot the ball from the perimeter. Gets elevation off the floor and has a nice looking stroke. Smooth explosion off the bounce getting to the rack both in the half court and in transition. Can finish with both hands at the rim. Crisp passer that makes sound decisions with the ball especially in the half court. Drive and kicks to shooters. Defensively he gets up in his man and moves well laterally. He projects as a low-major prospect and will be ranked as one of the better uncommitted point guards on the board.
How is the start of his senior season going so far?
“It is going good. We are playing good. We just have to keep staying together and playing with defensive pressure. That is what got us last year when we didn’t play any defense.”
What does he credit his big scoring start to?
“My teammates are getting me open shots. I am making open shots.”
Clayborn broke down what he does well on the floor.
“Penetrating and finding the open man. I can score at any given time and I am poised.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“UAB has recently reached out. Drake has been there. Illinois-Springfield. No offers yet.”
Look for him to gain some steam on the recruiting trail as the season goes along.
