Prospect Spotlight: Tyler Robinett (2020)
One of the best sophomore prospects in Idaho, 6-foot-6 forward Tyler Robinett could soon be a hot commodity among area college coaches.
The Middleton stretch-four is off to a nice start to his first varsity season with the Vikings, and mentioned to PHID what it is that makes him such a threat on the floor.
“I like to be down in the post, I’m pretty good down there. I can rebound pretty well and play some good defense. I’m a decent shooter, and I can bring the ball up the court if I have to,” said Robinett.
“Right now, I play better in the post. But I’d say now, and especially if I need to get where I’m going, I need to play wing more. I can play on the wing now, but I‘m just better in the post.”
At Middleton, he’s averaging 13 points and eight rebounds in the early part of the season.
“We’ve been progressing and getting to know each other better, and were 5-3 right now. My role right now is to be a scorer, and get rebounds and just do what I have to do to help us win,” said Robinett.
“I want to help take my team to state, that’s probably the biggest goal I have. And just win every game. And a personal goal; I want to make second-team all-conference.”
Robinett played with Idaho Select Club 15U last offseason, and plans to play with them again next spring and summer.
