Prospect Spotlight: Michael Smith (2020)
Class of 2020 wing, Michael Smith is ready for his new start at Foster High School.
Smith is an explosive wing, standing at 6’6. He plays above the rim, finishing plays with strong dunks. He is more of a slasher, getting in the paint for finishes through contact. He can run the floor well and does a lot of damage in transition.
“I got the mind set that nobody can stop me from getting to the cup” said Smith.
Playing for the Northwest Panthers, Smith got to travel this past summer and gain experience competing against top level talent. He worked on his handles this off season and also put up a lot of shots, working towards becoming a more consistent shooter.
”I’ve been putting a lot of focus into my jump shot. I really want to be able to make shots more consistently.”
After gaining exposure this summer, Smith has been receiving interest from a couple schools but nothing too serious.
”I’ve been contacted by a few schools but it’s been nothing too serious. I’m just going to continue putting in the work and things should fall into place.”
Smith now attends Foster High school. They have a young team, that should be in for some wins this season.
