Prospect Spotlight: Ethan Emerzian (2021)

It’s very difficult for a freshman in high school to compete on the varsity level.  It’s even more difficult for them to be successful in doing so.  Ethan Emerzian is a 5-10 point guard at Rochester Adams High School.  As a freshman he has been challenged to compete at the varsity level.  Not only has he accepted that challenge, but he has been competing at a high level and proving that he belongs.

Ethan Emerzian possesses elite point guard skills.  He has great court vision and is able to see the entire court.  This allows Emerzian to put teammates in scoring positions and recognize when he has an opportunity to score himself.  He is a solid shooter from both mid range and from behind the arc.  Emerzian is tough defensively and able to come up with stops on the perimeter.  He is currently working to improve his strength and quickness.

Ethan Emerzian is off to a good start to the 2017-2018 season.  When his team squared off against Utica he led the Highlanders with 14 points, while also contributing 4 assists and 4 rebounds.  In a close game against Kettering he had 22 points and seven rebounds.  He went 10-10 from the free throw line in the final four minutes.  Emerzian is looking forward to playing against Rochester High.  “They are our crosstown rivals and we get to play them at Oakland University,” he said.

All successful athletes set goals, and Ethan Emerzian is no different. He wants to continuously improve his statistics and make the all-conference team.  Emerzian wants to play basketball at the next level and looks forward to receiving college offers.  He wants to help his team improve their record and eventually take home a conference championship.

Ethan Emerzian is only a freshman, but he has made it clear through his performance on the court that college basketball is in his future.  He has a lot to offer a program in the years to come.  Emerzian has a very high basketball IQ and a strong work ethic.  He will bring a college coach a point guard with a high motor and a well rounded game.  Emerzian will continue to improve, using the motivation provided to him by his parents.  Fans and coaches in Michigan will want to keep an eye on the development and recruiting of  Ethan Emerzian over the coming years.
