Estill County finished 25-8 last season, placing them in second place among 14th Region with an overall of 12-4. This season the Engineers have started off with a 7-6 record, 2-0 in league play. Much of their success comes from an assist due to the play of senior guard Caleb Bonny.
Bonny is averaging 21.3 points and 4 rebounds per game. He’s shooting just over 50% from the field and has seen an improved shot from 3-point range. In a game against Franklin County, Bonny scored 25 points while shooting 8-11 from the field, proving to be very efficient from the floor. Maybe more noticeable is just how hard the kid plays. He brings it every single night, on both sides of the floor.
Estill County’s all-time leading scorer, Bonny poured in his 2,000th career point earlier this season. It’s obvious he’ll finish with much more by seasons end. He is currently getting small college looks from Centre College and Asbury University.
