Prospect Spotlight: 2020 PG Daishen Nix
When you think of point guards in this day and time you think of scorer’s. 2020 6’3″ PG Daishen Nix of Trinity International is just the opposite of that. He’s a throwback type of guard that likes to get his team involved. I have been following this young man for over 2 years, he’s a native of Alaska and made his way to Trinity International.
For his size he’s a physical guard that can take contact, and finish in the lane. He has great Court vision and plays under control. I have him as the #1 rated guard in the class of 2020 on Prep Hoops Nevada. What many people don’t know, this young man is only 15 years old. He’s playing on the Grind Session Circuit. You will find some of the top players in the nation competing at a very high level on this Circuit.
Daishen Plays for a hard-nose coach that demands a lot from his players. The team day starts at 4:45 am with breakfast and conditioning, and training at 6;00 am in the morning. I had an opportunity to sit down with Coach Lock. “I believe Mr.Nix is one of the best point guards in the Country. Coming out of the 8th grade his AAU coach, out of Canada sent me a 2 minute clip of him. He played in a local AAU Tournament here in Las Vegas and was outstanding. His court vision is phenomenal and he’s very mature for his age.”
The University of Nevada Las Vegas is showing some interest in this young man. It’s just a matter of time before some top programs in the Nations start to latch on!
