Prospect Spotlight: 2018 Andre Ball
Prospect Spotlight: 2018 Andre Ball
A season ago, the future was set—LiAngelo Ball playing at UCLA, LaMelo lacing them up for Chino Hills for his junior campaign, and Lonzo heading to NBA waters. Well, if you have been paying any attention to the news, only one of those predictions have come into fruition—that being Lonzo ball’n out in the NBA.
Since then LiAngelo and LaMelo are off to Lithuania to launch their respective professional careers. However, unless you’re a high school basketball scout or fan alike, you may not realize there is another Ball family member out there—and he too is creating a stir. His name is Andre Ball.
Andre Ball is one of the most improved players in So-CalAndre Ball is an evolving 6-foot-7ish senior wing-type who is a cousin of the Ball brother trio. He had to sit out his junior season because of shoulder issues which called for in-season surgery. “ I’m doing very well now. I feel my shoulders are as strong as ever,” noted Ball.
During the Battlezone Tournament a couple weeks back Ball was a high-flying acrobat who was throwing down dunks that would make Vince Carter smile. He has added a consistent 3-point shot as well. His ball skills need polishing as does his decision making, but he is definitely molding into a serious Division 1 prospect.
“I only have one Division 1 offer and it’s Northern Arizona, but I’m getting calls from UCLA, USC, ASU, and Cal,” explained Ball.
Due to his immense athletic package and improved shooting ability, look for Andre Ball to be courted by a few more colleges come April.
