Here is a look at some of the top Friday Night Games of the Week
CBC at St. Mary’s, 7 p.m. – A hot early-season non-conference game that will pack the house on the South Side of St. Louis. St. Mary’s is off to a 5-0 start with a tournament championship while CBC is already battle tested with a strong early schedule. It should be a good one. (Prediction: St. Mary’s).
Sikeston vs. Cape Notre Dame, 8:30 p.m. – This is the championship game of the SEMO Tournament. Top-seeded Sikeston has been impressive early while No. 7 seed Cape Notre Dame has pulled off some excellent surprise wins so far. (Prediction: Sikeston).
Rock Bridge vs. Glendale, Saturday, 7 p.m. – A great weekend clash between two Class 5 contenders at the Ozark Mountain Shootout. Rock Bridge has its talented crew of juniors, led by 6’5″ Isiaih Mosley while Glendale features 2018 scoring machine Monty Johal. Lots of points in this one. (Prediction: Glendale).
Confluence Academy vs. Nixa, 6:30 p.m. – A talented Confluence team makes the trip to Springfield to take on Nixa at the Ozark Mountain Shootout. It should be a good test for both teams. (Prediction: Nixa).
Fort Zumwalt South vs. Marquette, 8:30 p.m. – These two teams are battling for the championship of the Warriors Classic at St. Charles West. South took down a talented Lutheran North team by 20 points while Marquette held on for a two-point victory over Ritenour. (Prediction: Fort Zumwalt South).
Webster Classic semifinals:
Webster Groves vs. Staley, 7 p.m. – The Statesmen, led by coach Jay Blossom, will take on a Staley team that is directed by Chris Neff, who spent several years as Blossom’s assistant at Webster Groves. (Prediction: Webster Groves).
Lee’s Summit North vs. Northwest Academy, 8:30 p.m. – Lee’s Summit North got 31 points from talented 2019 guard Javaunte Hawkins to defeat Soldan in last night first-round game. LSN will get another Public High League team in the semifinals in a talented Northwest Academy team that won the Class 3 title last year. (Prediction: Lee’s Summit North).
