Post Game Interview: Erik Alvey & Kadin Shedrick
Q: You guys got a good win today over Trinity of Durham, I know you guys have played quite a few games in a short amount of time. What’s some things you all can learn from this game and take with you for the remainder of the season?
Erick: Really, just being a good team and moving the ball around, making plays down the stretch and making sure that we get the ball inside to our big man. When we get the ball to him he creates offense for us so we have to make sure to get him the ball.
Kadin: Just have to be strong, sometimes the refs don’t give you the calls that you want but you have to keep on playing through it. Also making sure we are playing all four quarters, not just one quarter here and there.
Q: I see you both played with Garner Road in the summer, how has that helped you guys on the court?
Erik: Definitely, it has built chemistry because you get to learn how other people play. Also when you’re playing at such a high level it prepares you for close game situations.
Q: How has recruitment been going for you guys?
Erik: Right now my recruitment is starting to pick up a bit, I’ve been getting some D1 & D2 interest so it’s picking up so hopefully I get my first offer soon.
Kadin: I have an offer from Nebraska, and a lot of interest from other D1 schools but just one offer so far.
Q: Goals for the season?
Kadin: One goal is definitely a winning record, I don’t think the school has ever had a winning record so I’m looking to get the first one. So yea that’s my goal, for us to get some more wins.
Erik: Our goals this year are winning conference, of course having a winning record like Kadin said, and getting to the State Championship game to compete on the big stage.
