Prep Hoops took in 2 basketball tourneys yesterday that were roughly 30 miles apart. Prep Hoops started the day at the Sweet 16 Tourney in Orangeburg. All today’s game were on the Orangeburg-Wilkinson HS campus after the first 2 rounds were all on 4 locations throughout the area.
Swansea defeated Allendale-Fairfax in overtime to start the day 59-55. Effix Miller (2018) led the way for the Swansea Tigers with 23 points. Keenan Coasts added 11 points in the victory.
Allendale-Fairfax remains winless (0-7) on the season but showed a lot of improvement. The Tigers have a very young roster focused on Lonzado Badger (2020) with 13 points and Shawn Jones (2021) 9 points. Several times today the Tigers Head Coach would make players do push ups during timeouts when upset with them for making a mistake on the floor.

The first semifinal game of the evening turned out to be a good woodshed beat down. The Colleton County Tigers jumped from the get go and ever looked back at the Kingstree Jaguars. So much for a cat fight between these 2 schools. Colleton County won 68-54.
The Cougars led the whole game and score was very misleading at one time the game was 43-16.
The Cougars (10-3) were led in scoring by seniors De’iajae Ferguson with 22 points, Tristian Nieves 13 points and Nyeem Green with 12 points. The Cougars will move onto the Championship Game on Friday night to play the host Orangeburg-Wilkinson HS Bruins.
