Though we are not even at the midway marker of the 2017-18 campaign, Davis is in the process of authoring a stellar and memorable senior season.
After hitting the game-winning bucket to cap off a 33-point performance during a win over Boca Raton earlier in the month, Davis hit timely shots in catapulting Spanish River to an 84-70 win against Coral Glades.
Davis scored 21 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, and doled out eight assists to lead SRHS.
Michael Ingraham, Dwyer
Emanating from the 5-foot-10 Class of 2019’s game was a wealth of veteran experience this weekend. This was an instrumental factor in undefeated (13-0) Dwyer’s 84-70 win over Ridgeview of South Carolina. Ingraham scored 13 points, none bigger than a corner 3-pointer that allowed Dwyer to open up the third quarter with an eight point bulge they never squandered.
Jocquez Blunt, Dwyer
Similar to the Miami Christian team an hour down the road that thrives with thorough ball movement, Dwyer is bolstered by depth and power in numbers offensively. This factor overwhelmed Ridgeview (S.C.) early on, as Blunt scored six of his eight points in the first quarter and keyed an early spurt.
The 6-foot-7 Class of 2018 forward from Lake Park is a rugged interior scorer who finds a way to finish.
He also flashes a shallow water slingshot jumper, an aspect that enables him to take big rim protectors away from the basket. A true interior power forward who plays with physicality and a sense of urgency, Blunt (a transfer via Palm Beach Gardens H.S.) has been a major off-season acquisition for Dwyer.
Matt Perez, Florida Christian
In keying a 72-45 victory over Miami Beach High School, Perez scored 15 points on the strength of five 3-pointers (5-for-8 3FG). He also kicked in five assists and added five rebounds for Florida Christian, which shot a scalding 27-for-48 from the field and 12-for-21 from 3-point territory.
