Intro: Tagen Pearson (2020)
Class of 2020 shooting guard Tagen Pearson is the top prospect on Nazareth Academy. The 6’1” shooting guard is a little undersized, but has projectability to grow a couple more inches in his final three years of high school. Pure shooting stroke from three. Gets elevation off the floor and has good rotation on his shot. Makes a couple nice passes, but also turns it over at times when playing on the ball. Definitely more comfortable playing off the ball moving to get open and setting up his shot.
How is it going early in the season?
“For me I think it is going pretty well. I can’t do it without these guys by my side. Every game we come out and work hard to try to win.”
Pearson broke down his game and what his skill set is.
“My game I am an outside to in type of player. I bring the ball up and run my team. Whenever the pressure comes help up with that and don’t let my teammates do bad. I have to have their back like they have mine.”
He just got to Chicago so he didn’t play on a local travel team this past summer.
“This past summer I moved here from Kansas City where I played with a small team called Play Hoops. It went well. We played with a lot of local AAU tournaments.”
Nothing going on with recruiting at this stage.
