Grind Session Notables: Signed And Unsigned
Zion Harmon, Adair County
Shouldering more big game experience than most Class of 2021 guards, Harmon has a veteran savvy to his game.
This much was evident during Harmon’s 34-point, six assist masterwork in spearheading Adair County to an 80-60 mauling of Franklin Simpson.
Prior to this, Harmon scored 16 points and dished 12 assists as Adair gutted out a 66-58 win over Edmonson County.
Incorporating a nifty floater into his arsenal has made the freakish freshman even more lethal.
Jeenathan Williams, Prolific Prep
The Buffalo-bound 6-foot-7 forward is a high-rising, extraterrestrial athlete. The lefty, a 32 PPG scorer in upstate New York also possesses the all around scoring skill set that’s made him a supplementary piece to hotly-pursued 6-foot-11 Center Jordan Brown at Prolific.
Williams’ timely and dazzling dunks were crucial against West Oaks. Williams’ 14 first half points against Oak Hill were indicative of his spurt-ability. Williams is a major recruiting coup for Buffalo, which brings in prized Orlando Christian Prep point guard as a key piece of the 2018 class as well.
Antavion Collum, Tennessee Prep Academy
Adjusting to a full time point guard role has been instrumental in elevating Collum’s recruitment.
Pittsburgh, Florida, and a bevy of high major programs have offered the 6-foot-8, 215-pound matchup nightmare.
A skilled scorer with a knack for angling bankers and scoring within the confines of the paint, Collum is an accurate depiction of a matchup nightmare.
He rebounds the ball tremendously well for a guard and is capable of guarding the 1-4 defensively.
Luguentz Dort, Athlete’s Institute
The powerful 6-foot-4 guard is an explosive in-traffic finisher and one of the country’s best in the open court.
With vastly improved passing and a work-in-progress shot, the Arizona State signee has as much natural ability as anyone in the country. He’s developed a 3-point shooting aptitude to supplement his patented forays to the rim.
After scoring the game-winner in a 49-47 win over Tech Academy (while playing for The Conrad School) in last year’s Grind Session event in Paducah, KY, expect much of the same from the bullish Class of 2018 guard.
Trace Young, Mt. Zion (Md.)
A high-level athlete and furious dunker, Young injects a significant swagger into the lineuo when fully engaged.
Possessing a crafty left-handed touch, the long-armed forward can create and knockdown shots while being active on the offensive glass.
