SG Zach Briggs (Decatur MacArthur – 2018)
Best Unsigned Senior
SG Armon Brummett (Decatur MacArthur)
Brummett is a strong and athletic scoring guard that can really fill it up in bunches. Has deep range on his jump shot, but at times relies too heavily on it. Explosive off the bounce and can finish through contact at the rim.
Top Prospect
SF Terrence Hargrove (East St. Louis)
Hargrove is the #3 overall prospect in 2019 and the top wing in the junior class. He is a high motor wing that has great athleticism. Plus rebounder that gets on the offensive glass. He has improved his perimeter skill set with his handles and shot. Big stage for Hargrove at Collinsville!
Most Intriguing Young Prospect
PF Patrick Readye (Belleville Althoff)
With the graduation of all of the stars from Althoff this is their next star. Readye is a low post prospect with legit size and strength to anchor on the block and score with his back to the basket. Good touch and feel for scoring in the paint. Really like his upside!
Most to Gain at Tournament
SG Anthony Fairlee (Springfield Southeast)
Fairlee is the best athlete in the state, but the skill set is coming fast! He is quickly starting to put it all together and when he does it could be scary. Finishes above the rim with force. Jumper is making strides. Plus on ball defender and rebounder. Needs to be heavily tracked by mid-major and low-major schools.
Final Four Picks and Champion
This is a tough call. There isn’t a clear cut favorite this year at Collinsville. We will go with East St. Louis. They have the best prospect in Terrence Hargrove along with transfer Joe Reece who is a D1 commit to Old Dominion. They weren’t clicking early in the season. We will say this is where it all comes together.
