Chick-Fil-A Day Two Standouts
ICHICK-FIL-A CLASSIC
Day 1 & 2
Isaac Suffren (2018, 6’3 Providence Day, Charlotte, NC)- Scored 24 points for Providence Day in a win over Westside HS (GA) at Chick-Fil-A Classic. Has the body of a college senior and is the most athletic player on the floor for Providence Day which also features Kansas signee Devon Dotson and Santa Clara signee Trey Wertz. He is a solid defender and I think with his offensive arsenal he has a chance to be a solid college prospect. Finishes at the rim on drives to the basket, has a solid frame that is college basketball ready. He is also good rebounder for his size. Has offers from Presbyterian and Charleston Southern.
Gabe Toombs (2019, 6’4 G Corner Canyon HS, Utah)-Good size at the guard spot being 6’4. Good handle with the ball in his hands. Showed the ability to make some shots from beyond the arc consistently. Shot 4-4 from the field in the first half with 10 points against Cox Mill. Did a good job on the defensive side of the ball as well.
Caleb Stone-Carrawell (2019, 6’6, Cox Mill HS Charlotte, NC)-Son of former Duke standout Chris Carrawell. Needs to work on playing through contact and not giving up on plays. Has a good frame and is a good rebounder. Can score off the dribble and can knock down some mid-range shots.
Juwan Gary (2019, 6’5 Gray Collegiate Columbia, SC)-High level athlete that can get to the basket. Has broad shoulders and is long. Scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against Kennan HS. Does a good job of defending with his length and quickness. Can cover a lot of area on both ends of the floor.
Cashius McNeilly (2020, 6’4 Huntington Prep, WV)-He sees the floor well and puts the ball on target and on time. Good floor General that makes unforced highlights. Showed an ability to knock down the long shot.
Robert Braswell (2018, F Blythewood HS, Blythewood, SC)-Long and a shooter. Would be a really good stretch four option at the college level. Would be a player at the high-major Level that could benefit from a red-shirt year. Needs some weight and muscle but his shot will transition well at the next level. In the right situation he could come in and be effective right away. A high-Level shooter.
Jaemyn Brakefield (2020, 6’8 Huntington Prep, WV)-One of the most athletic players in the class, Brakefield is a high-flying big man. He is skilled enough to handle the ball on the break and some possesions on the perimeter. He is not extremely long but can get his arms in passing lanes and block shots.
Qon Murphy (2018, 6’5, Cannon School, Charlotte, NC)-Attacks the paint and can get to the rim. Needs to put on some weight and get stronger. Has a nice feel for the game when in transition. Needs to get stronger when making passes and sometimes seems lazy. Needs to get stronger with the ball in his hands. Has a quick first step and can get by defenders but does not finish with contact.
DJ Burns (2019, F York Prep, York, SC)- Skilled big man with super footwork. Loves to post up and get his buckets with his back to the basket. Showed the ability to step out and knock down the mid-range jumper. Smooth, soft touch from the big man. Does a good job of rebounding the ball and putting a body on the opposition for a box out. He runs the floor pretty good for a big man.
