POTOMAC, MD — Bullis hosted its Annual Holiday Classic last weekend, featuring Westtown (PA), Mercersburg (PA), Episcopal, John Paul the Great, Woodrow Wilson, St. Vincent Pallotti, and Good Counsel, and we were in the gym for all three days checking out the action. Here is our full scouting report from our time in the gym.
High energy guard that plays aggressively and moves well without the ball. Decent finisher in traffic.
Long lanky wing with a nice touch from mid range and 3. Plays with a high motor and defends multiple positions.
Lefty post with a high motor. Good size and touch at 6’7. Can make the 15 footer. Has good footwork, and strong fundamentals.
Long lanky natural point guard with a very nice touch from the perimeter to go along with a solid skill set and a High IQ. Good at reading ball screens. Must become more stronger, more consistently aggressive and vocal.
Well built 6’7 big man with a nice inside out game. Has strong hands. Runs the floor. Sets good screens. Good passer. Available for dump offs.
Skilled, stocky guard. Can shoot well from the perimeter. Must improve decision making.
Smooth 6’6 wing with a versatile skill set. Efficient three point shooter from the catch. Has a good mid range pull up jumper as well. Can rebound out of area and start the break.
High energy forward with soft hands and nice touch. Works hard on the offensive glass. Still growing.
Long, skilled guard with a high IQ and a high motor. Skilled. Needs to add strength and fill out.
Athletic forward who thrives in transition. Demonstrates solid fundamentals. Needs to be more consistently aggressive
Lefty. High energy wing. Strong athlete, versatile defender. Crafty finisher.
Super athletic combo guard who can knock down open threes and likes to attack the basket. Needs to improve defensively and become a better decision maker.
Natural combo guard. Has grown a few inches since the summer. Slowly becoming an excellent on ball defender. Very good facilitator. Can score it well from all three levels. Must be consistently aggressive at all times.
Solid lead guard with good intangibles. Finishes well through contact. Gets others involved.
Clutch performer. Natural combo guard. Scores it very well from all three levels. Loves contact at the rim. Lockdown defender. Rebounds very well from his position. Still improving, and has a chance to be one of the best players on this list at the next level.
High energy wing with very good touch and soft hands. Has good length and a great frame. Needs to add strength, and continue to expand his skill set
High IQ floor general with tremendous explosiveness and agility. Defends very well on and off the ball. Lives in the paint, and doesn’t mind contact at the rim. Reliable playmaker, and unselfish. A winner. Still working on becoming a more consistent jump shooter.
Skilled point guard that can score it well from all three levels. Defends on and off the ball with intelligence and aggression.
He’s one of the best young shooters in the state, and he has deep range off the bounce meaning defenses have to pick him up early. He’s a smart kid that can read the defense, and he’s a crafty finisher in traffic as well. Is beginning to fill out and get more athletic as he grows into his body.
Diminutive point guard who can shoot the 3 and defend the ball well. Needs to be more vocal, and improve his finishing around the basket.
Quick and crafty lead guard. Scores it well from various angles around the basket. Older sister is a scholar athlete on the Notre Dame track team. Has good genes. Will fill out over time.
Glue guy with big time athleticism and versatility. Good size and length at 6’8. High IQ player.
High energy center. Nice hands. Active rebounder. Solid defender. Needs to improve finishing around the basket and fitness.
Sharpshooter with size. Moves well without the ball. Has deep range. Moves the ball. Can handle it a bit, and has the potential to be a lockdown defender.
Smooth and crafty guard with a quick first step. Good pull up shooter. Can finish in traffic, and likes to create for others. Demonstrates a great understanding of the game. Becoming a more solid defender as he continues to grow into his body and fill out.
Great mid range shooter. Plays with a very high motor. Has a nice frame and good size at 6’5. Likes to pull up, and is very good off the bounce. Can defend the post and is active on the glass.
Bouncy left handed wing that can shoot the three and defend multiple positions. Plays with a consistently high motor.
Crafty lead guard. Defends well. Rebounds. Can shoot the 3. Facilitates the offense. Vocal presence.
Scoring guard with high basketball IQ. Fills lanes well in transition off the ball; always looks to push off defensive rebounds. (C.G.)
Stocky wing with a nice overall skill set. Good defender that anticipates well off the ball. High level football athlete.
High level division one talent. 6’5 wing who can shoot the cover off the ball. Very skilled playmaker. Has tremendous defensive potential, but needs to stay consistently engaged on that end.
High level athlete that can score in bunches. Rebounds well out of his area. Displays toughness. Scores from uncommon angles, and plays above the rim.
Has good size for a wing at 6’4. Rangy athlete, long limbs. Fills the lanes in transition. Finishes strong in traffic. Can stretch the floor from three off the catch.
Lefty sharpshooter with deep range. Moves well without the ball, and has a high release point on his jumper. Tends to force it at times. Needs to improve as a finisher around the basket.
Underrated defender, rebounder, and high IQ guard who can play on or off the ball. Can shoot the 3, but also has a nice middle game. Very skilled with the ball, and extremely tough. A winner.
