Bowie @ Bladensburg: 5 Takeaways
12-19-17. Bladensburg HS. 4200 57th Avenue, Bladensburg, MD 20710.
I would like to thank Head Bladensburg Coach Antonio Williams, Assistant Coach Desmond Small , the remainder of the Bladensburg Coaching Staff & Mustang Athletic Director Michael Silverman for their great hospitality & chatting with me. I have very high regard for the Bladensburg Coaching Staff who works very hard putting in long hours to coach & mentor the team. Today, I chatted with Bowie Head Coach Tremaine Price & he was very helpful. I will talk to him in person at the next Bowie Bulldogs game I will attend. This was my 1st time seeing Coach Price & he was very impressive. He does an excellent job with Bowie players off & on the court. The Mustang gym is very nice & unique with level high seats behind the basket. Last nights game displayed high intensity & was a very entertaining, well coached game to watch. The players from Bowie & Bladensburg are very well mannered, polite & helpful. On the court the Mustangs & Bulldogs played excellent team basketball which showcased their athleticism & aggressive style of play which is the MO for Prince Georges County. My coverage for Prince Georges County 4A, 3A, 2A & 1A teams will be a high priority the rest of the season.

Daniel Oladapo is one of most versatile players in DC/MD
# 1 Daniel Oladpo, 6’7.5″, W/F, 2018. Daniel is a very long, 6’7″ plus, very athletic & tough as nails. He totaled 28 points & 16 rebounds, 3 steals & 2 blocks vs Bowie. He can play & guard 4 positions. Daniel has played a point forward at times this season. He knows & understands what the Mustangs need from him during games. Last night he battled in the paint where he was very effective. Daniel possesses great reactions & timing for rebounds, blocks & steals. He is an excellent defender & utilizes his wingspan on both sides of the ball very well. In the paint he is very crafty & his power moves &ball fakes are excellent. Daniel is one of the best facilitators in MD/DC fro the forward position & last night he delivered 5 plus elite assists, several coming on pin point length of the court outlet passes. Daniel can shoot the 3 ball & break down defenders off the dribble. Currently Daniel has offers from : High Point, Howard, Towson State, Canisius with several other D1 schools expressing high interest. He can fit very well into almost system due to Daniel’s eliteversatility & skill-set. Daniel has the IT factor & will be an excellent player in college. Last season I named Daniel to my All DC DMV team & he is a 1st team candidate this season. Daniel Please read our Recruiting Report for Daniel below:

Tyriq McAdoo is a breakout Player (Bladensburg)
# 11 Tyriq McAdoo, 6’5.5″, Wing, 2018. Tyriq is a DC/MD breakout player & should enter our 2018 DC/MD rankings in the next update. Last night he scored 13 points, grabbed 10 rebounds & rejected 2 shots. Tyriq has very high IQ, superb court vision & is fantastic ball mover / facilitator. He proved he can score from all 3 levels, is a solid ball handler & an excellent athlete. I really like his high motor, toughness, skill level & how well he fits in with the Mustangs. Tyriq has very nice jumper from the perimeter & slashes very well. I will be writing a Recruiting Report for Tyriq this month. He is an excellent college prospect who is very intriguing.
Bladensburg will be a Prince Georges 4A Contender
Bladensburg has opened the season with a very difficult schedule. Last night the Mustangs earned their 1st victory of the season over PG 4A contender Bowie. Just 3 days ago the Blade battled #18 MD/DC ranked Rock Creek Christian, but lost a close contest 57- 53. The Mustangs 1st game vs then #3 ranked Woodrow Wilson & 2nd was vs #25 ranked PG 4A rival Wise. Bladensburg is very well rounded with nice height. 6’7″Daniel Oladapo & 6’5″ Tyriq Mcadoo are both D1 players. Tyson Marbury & 6’1″ Tyshawn Walker form a very good back-court. The talented senior quartet could be on the brink of finding their team identity & chemistry based on the Mustangs last 2 games. High motor 6’4″ senior Justin Wallace plays a 6th man role performing the intangibles & very good defender. 5’10” senior Alonzo Taylor CG ( 6 points) , 5’11” sophomore PG Joseph Lovelace & 6’0″ senior Joshua Williams all see playing time. Bladensburg is scheduled to play Woodlawn @ Douglas HS in the Holiday Tournament. The Warriors posted a 21-4 record last season & are currently 3-0 . This will be an excellent contest I will hopefully attend.
#0 Tyshawn Walker, 6’1″ CG/PG, 2018. Tyshawn played a superb game last night. He totaled 11 points, 9 rebounds. & 4 assists. Tyshawn scored from all levels & converted on a fast break dunk. I will be writing his Recruiting Report this month who is pictured on the left
#2 Alonso Taylor, 5’10”, CG, 2018. Alonso added Taylor 6 points & 2 assists last night. He played a key role in the Mustangs win. We will be scouting Alonso & chatting with him in the near future.
#4 Tyson Marbury, 6’0″, CG/PG, 2018. Tyson played an excellent floor game recording 5 plus assists. Tyson was impressive & I will be writing his Recruitig Report this month
#12 Joshua Williamson, 6’0″ G, 2018. Joshua is a key reserve for the Mustangs.
Bowie has 3 outstanding guards
#1 Isaiah Burke, 6’0″, PG, 2018. Isaiah is a very athletic PG with a beautiful jumper. He can hit shots from all levels & last night drained a trey.He has excellent explosion & can get to the rim off the dribble. Isaiah is very good in transition & has great chemistry playing alongside 2020 CG Kyree Freeman-Davis.

#5 Kyrie Freeman-Davis, 6’1″, CG, 2020. Kyrie scored 16 points last night. He hit several beautiful high rising jumpers on & off the dribble. Kyrie converted at least 3 dynamic drives at rim, one using his opposite left hand. Kyrie utilizes his long wingspan on his swoops to the bucket. He has very good handle, can defend, & plays with a high IQ. Kyrie is rated #37 in our very deep 2020 MD/DC rankings, but he will move up. He is a D1 prospect. Kyrie & Isaiah are pictured right to to left respectively.

#13 Jordan Mitchell, CG/PG, 5’10”, 2019. Jordan was very impressive last night. He can shoot, attack the rim & run the point. Jordan scored 8 points, but he impacted the game in many other areas. I will be interviewing Jordan in the near future.
Bowie will be a PG 4A contender
Despite a lack of size & yesterdays narrow loss, Bowie is still a top contender for the Prince Georges 4A top seed. 6’5″ F Rasheed Idowu #0 can rebound, bang in the paint & score inside. He must be able to stay on the floor & avoid foul trouble. However, Bowie is loaded at guard & 5’10” Jordan Harris is a knockdown shooter in addition to the Bulldogs guard trio listed above. The top 4 PG 4A teams are Wise, Eleanor Roosevelt, Bladensnburg & Bowie. DuVal is emerging & will travel to Bowie on Friday 12-22-17 in a key PG 4A contest.
