Beach Ball Classic Standouts
The Beach Ball Classic is always loaded with talent from guys that are in national recruiting circles to guys that may have a breakout performance in front of the right people, you never know what you will see at The Beach Ball Classic. Here is a look at some of the top performers so far.
6’4 senior guard Tykei Greene for Long Island Lutheran jumps out of the gym. Very athletic 6’3 guard. He has offers from Tulane, Central Connecticut, Niagara and Towson.
6’1, 2019 guard Jahmir Young produced yesterday. 12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal for DeMatha. Pass first guard that can defend. He has quick first step, and can knock down shots from deep. Has offers from James Madison and Coppin State
North Carolina’s Roy Williams, NC State’s Kevin Keatts, Wake Forest assistant Randolph Childress were in to see 2019 Wendell Moore of Cox Mill High School on Thursday.
6’6 2020 Earl Timberlake was as good as advertised. Complete game with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for Dematha (MD). Skilled, versatile and can guard multiple positions. Timberlake has offers from Wake Forest, Providence, Penn State, Kansas State, Virginia Tech, Rhode Island and Georgetown.
Freshman Will McClendon will be a national name soon, already has offers from Washington, Pepperdine and UNLV. Led Bishop Gorman (NV) with 21 points yesterday. Scoring guard can shoot it and is strong.
Impressed with 2019 guard Justin Moore of DeMatha at Beach Ball Classic yesterday. Scored 21 in the win over defending champ Imhotep Charter. Can score it from anywhere, plays well off the ball, showed ability to create off dribble.
Lees-McRae College is getting a solid big man with 6’8 Andrew Gardner of Socastee HS. Soft touch, knocking down 12 footers with a big body.
Wendell Moore scored 29 points & North Carolina signee Rechon Black added 19 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals in 1st round win for Cox Mill HS at Beach Ball Classic.
