2019 Richard Dudley explodes for 41 points for Paint Branch
2019 guard Richard Dudley of Paint Branch put on one of the best individual performances I have seen this high school season as he went for 41 points for Paint Branch in a victory over Gaithersburg last night. 18 of his 41 came from three-point range. He also was able to attack the lane at will using his speed and agility to finish with some nice floaters, tear drops and runners off the glass. There was simply nobody able to guard Dudley as he was able to get past the opposition with his nice handles and nifty moves with the ball. It wasn’t just his scoring that stood out though, whenever Gaithersburg would try and pressure him, he would find his teammates for a nice pass or assist. Overall, Dudley is a natural scorer and a guy that is very capable of getting other guys involved.
This success shouldn’t come as a shock though because he and his Paint Branch team have been playing well all year, “The season is going good, we only have one loss and we are just progressing each and everyday.”
He mentioned he would like to improve on some things so he can hopefully get some more college looks, “I am working on my defense and I can always improve on my jump shot so it can be more consistent.”
Paint Branch is off to a really good start and Dudley mentioned how he wants to keep on going with these type of performances, “We just need to keep on getting better, keep winning while we are getting better and just get better individually and as a team.”
Look for Dudley’s recruitment to gain a lot of more traction especially if he keeps on putting up performances like this. This summer he plans on playing AAU with Team Takeover Orange.
