Player of the Game: Brandon Slater, 6’6″, Wing, 2018. Paul VI Committed to Villanova
Brandon totaled 24 points on 8-14 shooting which included 3-6 three pointers. He added 2 assists, 3 blocks & 1 steal & did not commit a turnover. His three 3 pointers were made in a critical juncture of the second half. Brandon had previously missed his 1st 3 attempts, but drained 3 in a row to put Paul VI ahead by 8. Brandon scored on several every tough in the paint baskets & played a superb overall game. He impacted the game on every level & he has one of the highest motors in the DMV.
Best Defender : Brandon Slater, Paul VI.
Brandon utilized his very long wingspan to wreak havoc in the Wesleyan passing lanes. The statistics read he grabbed 4 rebounds which seems low. There is no question that Brandon is an elite defender & his overall game will make him an impact player at Villanova next season.
Best Intangibles : Brandon Slater, Paul VI
Brandon was all over the court. He dove for loose balls & grabbed the 50/50s. Brandon altered numerous Wesleyan shots & battled in the paint giving the Panthers an athletic paint presence. He was a superb ball mover & almost every player he made turned to gold.
Best Floor General: Jeremy Roach, 6’2″, PG, 2020. Paul VI .
Jeremy is ranked in the top 15 players in the nation & last night he proved why. He played a superb game & was a top 3 performer in the contest. Jeremy is tremendous at breaking down the defense off the dribble & getting deep in the paint for scores or pin point drop offs or kick-outs. Jeremy is always a threat to score from all 3 levels & deliver a pin point assist. He is an elite ball handler & last night commited just 2 turnovers in 31 minutes. Jeremy totaled 20 points with many clutch plays. He is a relentless attack PG whose toughness is very undervalued.
Best Offensive Player : Aaron Wiggins, 6’6″, Wing, 2018. Wesleyan Christian. Committed to Maryland.
Aaron displayed an excellent jumper from from the mid range & a great stroke. He excels in the mid range, but can score from 3 or at the rim. Last night Aaron scored 25 points on 11-19 shooting. Head Maryland Coach Mark Turgeon was on hand to see his prized recruit & Aaron proved why he is a top 30 player in the nation.
Best Player off the Bench : Josiah Freeman, 6’4″ WG, 2020. Paul VI.
Josiah is a knockdown shooter from the wings for the Panthers. He scored 7 points with one 3 pointer. He was a key contributor for the Panthers in the 2nd half. Josiah has a picture perfect jumper with high elevation. He has a very strong build & an excellent upside. Josiah has the ability to be recruited on the national level & breakout in the near future.
Best Underclassman 2020 : Jeremy Roach, Paul VI
Jeremy is ranked @ #15 for 2020 nationally & a 5 star. We firmly believe he will be a top 25 player nationally thru his senior year.
Best Underclassman 2021: Trevor Keels, Paul VI.
Trevor is one of the top freshmen in the DC DMV & nation. He is very strong & looks 6’4″ plus, Trevor has a very high IQ & plays with a high motor. Trevor can score from all 3 levels & has the potential to be an excellent defender.he is rated in the 50 players for 2021 in every publication we have seen. We are very impressed by his overall game ability to score from the perimeter or inside.

Late in the game Brandon went on 3-3 three point shooting barrage to boost the Panthers lead to 8.
Best Under the Radar: Kobe Langley & Keyshaun Langley 6’1″, PG, 2019. Wesleyan Christian.
The twins are excellent PG. Kobe is a lefty (#00) & is an excellent athlete with great quickness. Keyshaun is a righthander & scored 10 points & dealt out 7 assists The twins are both ranked in the top 200 players & were committed to Virginia Tech, but decided to reopen their recruitment. We were very impressed by the duo.
