MVP: Caleb Mills (2019, guard Asheville Christian): The junior guard scored 22 points, most of them in the 2nd half to secure the win for Asheville Christian. With York Prep leading by 4 at halftime, Mills came out strong in the second half and was hard to stop.
Best Rebounder: Eze Elochukwu (2018, center-Asheville Christian)-6-foot-10 big man did a good job against York Prep junior post player DJ Burns and grabbed some big rebounds for Asheville.
Best Passer: Raishaun Brown (2019, guard Asheville Christian)-Brown is one of the more underrated passers in the area. He is a flashy guard that can make tough shots and find the open man with a razzle-dazzle pass.
Best Scorer: Vincent Cole (2018 guard York Prep)-Cole has a knack for scoring the basketball, he can make difficult shots and he can score at the rim and get into the paint. He is a really good shooter from distance and is long at 6-foot-6.
Best Athlete: Derricko Williams (2019 forward York Prep)-Williams is a beast on both ends of the floor, he can get garbage buckets and easy low-post scores and he can make the acrobatic lay-up while getting fouled. He is a physical specimen that doesn’t back down from anyone.
Best Footwork: DJ Burns (2019 forward York Prep)-Burns shows the ability to score in the post and shows high-major moves while doing it. He has a soft touch around the rim and does a good job of using his body in the post.
Mr. Do it All-Jaron Williams (2018 wing York Prep)-The Longwood University recruit is a do-it-all type kid for York Prep and Head Coach Frank Hamrick. He will rebound, bring the ball up the floor, shoot it, defend, hustle for loose balls.
Best Sophomore: Tyler McKinney (2020 guard, Asheville Christian)-McKinney is a knock-down shooter from anywhere on the floor, he is a good ball-handler, has a high basketball IQ and can make plays. He is going to be one to watch over the next two seasons.
Mr. Intangible: Caleb Mills (2019 guard Asheville Christian)-Mills just does so many things for Asheville Christian to help them win ball games. He can defend, he can take defenders off the dribble, he has a high IQ, makes the right passes, has the length to score against most defenders.
