Blue Springs vs. Blue Springs South
Date: Thursday (Dec.7)
Two city rivals square off in an early season battle for bragging rights. Both teams are coming off terrific seasons a year ago, but must replace key players. Blue Springs likely has the edge here as they return one of the city’s premier inside-out duos in 2018 shooting guard RJ Lawrence and Daniel Parker Jr. South returns Ethan Swanegan, but is otherwise looking to a new cast of players to step up at the varsity level.

Rockhurst at Raytown
Date; Tuesday, Dec. 5
Raytown is poised for another big season after winning more than 20 games a year ago. They return big man tandem Mason Fair and Devin Drew as well as point guard Robert Proctor, one of the KC area’s most underrated guards. Rockhurst, meanwhile, features a deep and talented team returning to the court, while the Broncos feature several talented guards as well as a quality big man.

Rockhurst: Xavier Rhodes (6’1, G, 2018), Glen McClintock (6’1, G, 2019), Daylen Ridgnal (6’4, F, 2019), Jake Thompson (6’0, G, 2018).
Stanberry at Bishop LeBlond
Date: Dec. 8
Bishop LeBlond is off to a 1-0 start with a win over West Platte (66-50), while Stanberry is 1-0 with a 53-50 win over Mound City. Stanberry won a Class 1 state championship two years ago and are hungry to get back to the Final Four this season. The Bulldogs feature a terrific 1-2 punch in 6’6 2018 forward Brad Hailey and 6’0 2019 guard Cole Durbin. They teamed to score 41 points in its season opener.
