Washington TOC: 2019 Scouting Reports Day 1
The first day gave us four games and we saw some great juniors. Here are the best broken down from the first day of the tournament.
Kycia Washington (Howe – 5’10 G)
This was Washington’s coming out party of sorts. He did everything really well and almost got himself a triple double falling just a steal short. He saw the floor really well and had 10 assists. Most of those were off his steals but still he got his head up and down the floor really well. Should be a good year for Washington.
Luther Taylor (Whitfield – 6’4 G)
It seemed like Taylor was Watson’s right hand man. He played a great game even though his team struggled. Taylor finished with 13 points and 8 rebounds and looked really good doing so. He’s a athletic, bouncy guard who can do really anything he wants from the guard spot. Plays above the rim and shoots the ball at a decent clip while doing all the little things. Colleges are going to start to notice him.
Cam Scott (Illini Bluffs – 6’0 SG)
Scott has a really nice shot and takes it from anywhere when he is open. He doesn’t have the greatest ability to drive but it is there. Scott makes a nice small school prospect with how rounded he is overall.
Mike Lewis (Corliss – 5’4 G)
Lewis is a small guard but he plays much bigger than he is. He scored 12 points and added 4 steals and 4 assists. He plays with a high motor and is active on both ends with his hands. He is a little stronger than you make think too.
EJ Liddell (Belleville West – 6’7 PF)
Liddell was a man in his game. He only played the first half because it got out of hand. He is raw offensively but he has all the makings of a really good player at the D1 level. He is currently a four star prospect but he is still getting better. He can shoot the ball too, it’s not just all at the rim.
