Top Glue Guys – player notes
Every team needs glue players to help earn wins. The glue players are leaders they keep the team together with leadership. Some lead by example doing the right thing and some are more vocal with their leadership. They bring hustle non-stop to the court. Glue guys are the players every coach loves to have on their team.
Rainier Beach’s dominant post, Nehemie Kabeya is ready to pick up some offers. Standing 6’9, Kabeya has the size to play Division 1 basketball. He already has the size of a college post player. His strengths are his post defense, with his ability to block shots and rebound the ball. He really needs to work on his balance and foot work. Once he gains better foot work, he will be a huge threat in the paint offensively.
Cleveland’s 2019 sharp shooter Kobe Elleby is ready for a break out season. Elleby should be in for big minutes this season, playing along side his older brother. Kobe’s brother CJ Elleby is a senior at Cleveland and has recently committed to play at Washington State University. Still working towards gaining his own basketball college scholarship, Elleby has been putting in some major work on and off the court.
2018 Sadique Calloway is a hidden gem, playing in the metro league. The 6’1 combo guard has been working extremely hard this off season on all aspects of his game, especially becoming a more confident scorer.
Kentwood senior wing Ojhani Jackson is prepared for an exciting season. This off season Jackson focused a lot on studying the game and a lot of skill work to become a better player. He wants to become a better decision maker and gain more confidence.
West Seattle’s new guard Elijah Nnanabu is excited to play in the Metro League. The 6’3 senior transferred to West Seattle from Federal Way high school. He is a solid combo guard, who has a nice touch on his jump shot. He’s confident with his scoring ability and can also create for others. Nnanabu can’t wait for the season to start.
