Steady Start: Asheville Christian Academy

Elochuckwu EzeOne of the keys to season has been the play of 2019 guards Raishaun Brown and Caleb Mills. Brown has an offer from Western Carolina University and is s strong combo guard that score off the dribble. He has a consistent shot from beyond the arc.
Mills is a hybrid point guard that is 6-foot-4 and long. He can attack off the dribble and get into the lane causing problems for the opposition. He is a streaky shooter from long range and can score off the ball. He has a really nice stroke and is an underrated defender. Mills has offers including George Mason, App State and College of Charleston, Winthrop and Liberty. Cincinnati has had assistant coach Larry Davis in to see him workout a few times, but no offer yet.
Sophomore Tyler McKinney is a shooter, he has been a steady scoring threat for Asheville since he has arrived from North Buncombe High School as a transfer.
Another factor in the play of the Lions this season has been the recent addition of big man Elochukwu Eze, a 6-foot-10 senior center who came to Asheville via Florida. He is a skilled big man that can alter shots and rebound. He has a soft touch around the rim and is receiving interest from Bg South and Southern Conference schools.
Asheville Christian beat Gaston Day with Houston recruit Nate Hinton and College of Charleston signee Quan McCluney by 9, 77-68. Their only loss came at the hands of Carmel Christian (Charlotte).
