SCBCA 1-A Preseason Team
This week the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association put together there preseason teams for all 5 classifications. Here is a look at the Class 1-A team and few additional players to watch this season in the Palmetto State.
SCBCA Class 1-A Team
Mikial Fourney (2018) – Lewisville HS
Fourney is still playing football in the 3rd Round vs Ridge Spring-Monetta. Fourney a left-handed off guard averaged 12 ppg last season for a team that lost in the State Championship.
Corey Fields (2018) – Baptist Hill HS
Fields has thrown for 2,614 passing yards to go with 34 touchdowns and 8 interceptions this season. The Bobcats currently in the 3rd of the playoffs play Lake View HS tomorrow night. Fields has thrown for 7,368 yards and 85 touchdowns in his career.
Tyrike Lewis (2018) – Hemingway HS
Lewis returns to the Class 1-A defending champs.
Mataeo Durant (2018) – McCormick HS (pictured on front)
Durant has signed with Duke University for football next season.
Jeblonski Green (2018) – Lamar HS
Green has 53 tackles and 2 sacks this season. North-South All Star game. This one is a bit of shocker to Prep Hoops.
Prep Hoops South Carolina likes to add to this list regardless of classification some other players in Class 1-A to watch this season.
Tyson Bettis (2018) – Ridge Spring-Monetta HS (Monetta)
Bettis a quarterback on the gridiron is currently in the playoffs. Bettis was a all-state selection last season.
Kobe Praylow (2018) – Hannah-Pamplico HS
Praylow a small guard averaged 21.7 ppg last season for the Red Raiders. Praylow concluded his football career last week in a playoff loss to C,E. Murray. Praylow ran the ball 36 times for 186 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Marlow Gilmore (2019) – Hunter-Kinard-Tyler HS (Neeses)
Gilmore is the BEST player in Class 1-A. Gilmore averaged a left-handed forward averaged 20 ppg last season for the Trojans.
Darius Taylor (2019) – Hemingway HS
Taylor has the 11-0 Tigers in the 3rd Round of the football playoffs. Taylor has 11 interceptions this season as a defensive back. Taylor averaged 10 ppg and 5 assists last season on the State Championship team. Taylor has started since his freshman season for the Tigers.
Kelton Talford (2020) Great Falls HS
Talford 6’4 averaged 9.8 ppg for the Red Devils.
Adonis Davis (2021) – Blackville-Hilda HS
Davis a left-handed kid is never short on all out effort on the floor. Tough minded player who has a great nose for the ball. Just a freshman which is hard to believe since we have seen him play already 2 full seasons.
