Recruiting Report: Winston Dessesow (2018)
2018 Admiral Farragut guard Winston Dessesow did all that he could to give his team a chance with Dre Fuller sidelined late last season.
The Blue Jackets fell to Seffner Christian 60-53 in the Class 4A-District 4 title game. Dessesow had a team-high 18 points in that game. A week later, Admiral Farragut lost to Orlando First Academy to finish 18-4 on the season.
“Last season was a little disappointing because our goal was to get to states which we didn’t make it to, “Dessesow told Prep Hoops Florida. “I feel I learned that I have to step up this year and take control of the team alongside Dre Fuller. I was most proud of my consistency during the season shooting wise.”
This summer Dessesow played for the Liberty Dream. He called it a good one all around.
No offers have come yet for the 6’0″, 155-pounder, but he’s drawn interest from Eckerd, Wesley and Widner.
Dessesow called his jumper and his ability to hit shots consistency his best assets. He’s still looking to get stronger.
He says he had a different mindset and attitude than the rest.
“People might not know me yet but they definitely will,” Dessesow said.
I saw firsthand what this kid was able to do as the true leader for Admiral Farragut last season. He’s determined as they come and he isn’t afraid to shoot. Look for Dessesow to have a nice senior campaign with Fuller and the rest of Admiral Farragut out to prove themselves.
