Recruiting Report: Roman Barnet (2019)
Roman Barnet is ready to step up and lead his team.
With the departure of six seniors from last years O’Dea High School men’s basketball team, there are plenty of roles to fill and Barnet feels confident he can help lead his team.
“I definitely look forward to leading this year,” Barnet said. “My role last year was more of a role player position.”
Entering his junior year, Prep Hoops 24th ranked prospect for the class of 2018 in Washington is aiming to improve his play on both sides of the ball, specifically the defensive end.
The talented shooting guard played the entire has been in the gym the entire summer. He provided instant offense whenever he entered the game with his skills and athletic ability. He can get in the lane and make jumpers and step out and knock down 3-pointers. He also displayed some explosive ability with a number of transition dunks. He has a high upside.
Versatile wing player who was equally capable of playing inside the lane or on the perimeter. He operated on the high post well with buckets and did an excellent job of the offensive boards. He is also a solid ball handler who can get to the basket and hit jumpers off the dribble.
He has also been working on his ball handling skills to help him run the point better this season. He identifies his biggest strength as his shooting so he is working to compliment that with other parts of his game.
His two motivating forces are to win a state title with his teammates, and to work hard in order to get letters from some colleges this upcoming season, as he eventually wants to play college basketball.
