Recruiting Report: Jovan Dodig (2018)
Bear Creek guard Jovan Dodig has high expectations for himself and he really wants to take his team to another level.
“The way our team has been working this off-season and this season has been really exciting we have a whole team of players who are returning and guys that excited,” Dodig said.
“As a team we expect to make a run for league and to make one of our best season at Bear Creek in a while, we haven’t had a winning season in a while and our team this year is hungry to make this change.”
Jovan wants his team to improve and he wants to be the guy that helps his team push to a new level.
“My individual goal is to a legacy that will be remembered forever and to make it to the college level,” Jovan said. “Our team goal this year is to change the culture at Bear Creek and to make that run for first in league and to make a run in playoffs.”
Dodig himself wants to be a better shooter and that has been his off-season individual concentration.
“My main focus has to work on my shot because It has been a huge piece that I have been missing since I’ve started basketball and it’s something that I have really been working hard towards,” Jovan said.
“This off-season I did a lot of one on one training with my high school assistant coach Malcom Whye, lots of skill work and shooting with our other assistant Michael Borgelt, and also did lots of explosive work with my club coach Manuel Perez,” Dodig said to Prep Hoops.
“I also did AAU with Colorado Regulators. We played in lots of show cases and did three out of state tournaments in California and Las Vegas. Also my high school team traveled to San Diego to play in a team camp at UCSD.
“This helped me build leadership and helped me build lots of skills to progress this season.”
Dodig has looked at playing college basketball in Iowa at the moment.
“I have talked to Iowa Lakes and Iowa Central,” Jovan said. “I have visited both schools and have worked out with both of the schools.”
