Recruiting Report: Jeremy Cody (2018)
Pueblo South 6-foot-6 forward Jeremy Cody is a Track & Field standout who is also an excellent basketball player.
Cody competed with the Colorado Chaos 17u squad this past spring and summer.
“I played AAU with Colorado Chaos all May and July which helped my all around game before my senior year,” Cody said. “My junior year of high school was great, we went to the final four, and didn’t finish where we wanted to but that experience will help us more this year.”
Cody is a three sport athlete that averaged over a dozen a game last winter for Pueblo South.
“I’ve been working and mainly focusing on my three-point shot and my defense,” Jeremy said. “My individual goals for this year is to be a leader for my team and to lead class 4a in rebounds. While my team goal is for us to win our league, SCL, and overall win state.”
Cody returns along with Marcel Barbee and Lawrence Ramos as key seniors on the team.
“We are loaded with seniors this year and all of our talent is returning besides Deshiloh Stanley and we have two new players this year that are both seniors which will bring great energy for us,” Cody said. “I expect us to go just as far if not farther in playoffs as we did last year.”
Cody has heard from one school for basketball but most of his college interest is coming to him in Track & Field.
“For basketball, I went on a visit to Concordia Nebraska and that’s really it, but for track I’ve been in contact with Colorado University-Boulder, Colorado State Fort Collins, Northeastern University, and VCU,” Cody said over the weekend.
“I’ve taken visits to Boulder and I’m actually on my visit at Northeastern right now and plan on visiting CSU next weekend
