Recruiting Report: Brandon Mason (2018)
Six-foot-3 point guard Brandon Mason has switched schools and turned up the workouts in preparation for a big senior season.
This past spring/summer Mason logged a lot of team on the 17u circuit helping him mature for the up coming year.
“I played with Team Magic Elite out of Memphis, to prepare for the July live period and the upcoming senior season I was working out three times a day; morning, noon, and a late nights night session,” Mason said.
“I prepared for the year of course working on my game and also working on my leadership skills so that I could be the vocal leader on my team that had a shot at a state title.”
Mason is at a new school now joining Antwan Beans, Tylar Haynes, and Terrell Shellman as Rideway talented seniors.
“I transferred this year to Ridgeway High School and the addition of me with the great talent that Ridgeway had last year returning could make us a threat and a contender for that gold ball,” Mason said.
As a junior at Memphis Central Mason scored just under ten points per game shooting a solid percentage form both the field and the foul line. Now he’s at Ridgeway where he hopes to provide numbers and help his team win.
“My individual goals are to average a double-double and do what’s ever necessary to produce wins. My team goals are to win a state title and build unbreakable bonds with my teammates.”
Mason also listed several schools he said that have made contact with him entering his senior season.
“I have been talking to Tennessee State, UT-Martin , Missouri State, Charleston Southern, Marshall, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, East Carolina, Tuskegee etc,” Mason said.
“I haven’t taken any visits yet but I plan on taking one to Tennessee State real soon. My recruitment is still 100 percent open and I plan on making a decision in April.”
