Recruiting Report: Ashton Rogers (2018)
Six-foot-3, 184 pound Ashton Rogers is coming off a 12.7 point, 7.5 rebound junior season and the high academic senior is ready for his senior campaign.
Rogers is coming off an excellent junior season and he spent his spring and summer playing 17u basketball with positive results.
“This off season I played AAU ball with CSBC Elite and summer ball with my high school team as well as working with a few trainers to get ready for my senior year,” Asthon told Prep Hoops.
“My junior year went well as I averaged 12.7 points per game (8th in league), 7.5 rebounds per game (5th in league) and made 54 threes (3rd in league).”
Rogers wants to create more for his teammates this year so he’s spent a lot of time working on his handles for the initial separation
“My focus has been to improve on creating more whether it be me getting an open shot or setting one of my teammates up.”
And the team is all Rogers cares about, winning is fully on his mind.
“This year we are very optimistic about the season and think that we can accomplish quite a bit even though not too many outsiders believe in us,” Ashton said. “As a team we want to have a winning record, and host a playoff game. I don’t have many individual goals. I just want us to win as a team.”
Rogers is a strong student with some excellent academic numbers. He’s maintained a 4.6 grade point average, got a 1410 on the SAT and 31 on the ACT, and applied for the Boettcher Scholarship. He’s visited one program so far.
“I was invited to the Denver U and Colorado College Elite Camps and also had a visit to Colorado College.”
