Recruiting Report: Ali Ali (2019)
Ali Ali – 6’7” | W | Spiece Indy Heat Red 2019 | East Noble High School
Ali Ali is a long, athletic wing player that has the complete package on the offensive end of the floor. He has proven that he can consistently step out and knock down the long ball at a high rate and has added some game with his back to the basket in the recent months. Ali has played in the Indy Heat Program for the first two years of his AAU career and it has really helped his all-around development. He attends East Noble High School where he will be one of the key returning pieces in their success this season.
“We have all the pieces we need to be a successful team. We are bringing back a handful of players with varsity experience and good size, which will help us this season.” The Knights are coming off a 12-11 season where they relied heavily on their defense to win games. This year, they will have Ali to help lead the team on the offensive end.
“Workouts have been going really well. I feel very comfortable about our team this year.”
Ali is a team player that does what it takes to give his team the best chance to win games. He will be able to contribute in every category this year. He has experience, great scoring ability, length and athleticism on defense, and a knack for being in the right position to grab rebounds.
Ali’s recruiting has started to take off as he continues to build on skill set. Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), and Loyola Chicago have been keeping up with him the most so far. Iowa State University has gotten into the mix hear recently. He is looking to take a visit to IUPUI in the near future and hopes that he can do the same with the other schools.
He is looking to get into Business Management and what’s to land somewhere that has a family atmosphere and the opportunity to help the team win games early.
Ali’s length and basketball IQ create turnovers and easy opportunities for the offense in transition. He runs the floor extremely well and has been working on his ball handling in the offseason to be stronger getting to the basket in traffic. Ali is finishing above the rim consistently with either hand off one or two feet.
“I’ve been in the weight room a lot this offseason. Working on my ball handling, shooting, and developing into a consistent post player.”
As Ali works on his back to the basket game, he will be an even bigger matchup problem for opponents this season. He doesn’t force the game and uses his frame and offensive repertoire to his advantage. The game comes easy and he is a fluid player on offense.

Ali is someone that can score coming off screens with or without the ball and he’s started to become more comfortable in ball screen action. He is one of the guys that has been flying under the radar but is definitely a prospect to keep on the radar for the 2017-2018 season. Ali Ali of East Noble is primed for a breakout junior campaign.
