Prospect Spotlight: Zane Foster (2019)
Bonney Lake’s big man Zane Foster holds down the paint.
Foster is the tallest prospect coming out of Washington’s 2019 class, standing at 6’11. He is a great shot blocker, using his length to make opposing players shots difficult. He is really good at protecting the paint and meeting guys at the rim to defend the hoop.
“My biggest strength as a player is my defense. I love playing defense and I think it really helps my team out” said Foster.
Although Foster is a great defender, he has some improving to do on the offensive end. He is a solid post player, who can score in the paint and does a fair job rebounding the ball. Only a sophomore, he should continue to work on his weaknesses and improve his game.
“I am looking to improve on my footwork and offensive game. I also want to become stronger, so I can bang a little more in the post. Those things will really help me out.”
Foster scored a season high 19 points earlier this season. He has gained a lot of confidence this year and should continue to develop his game and have a strong summer during the AAU circuit. With his size, he will draw attention on the court, now it’s all about developing more skills and becoming a strong player for Foster. Being under the radar, Foster hasn’t been recruited much, but he looks to turn some heads this summer.
“I haven’t been contacted by college coaches yet, but I have attended a couple college camps last summer.”
Foster will continue to grow as a player, as he puts in some major work this off season.
