Prospect Spotlight: Tyler Brelsford (2020)
Tyler Brelsford, a class of 2020 guard at Mount St. Joseph, is a player to watch this season after a fantastic summer on the AAU circuit with Team Melo. One thing we seem to notice each time we see him is that he continues to grow. Brelsford, who stands close to 6-foot-2 now, looked very confident in a recent scrimmage at DeMatha.
“I see my self as a point guard that can play the 2 because of my shooting ability,” said Brelsford of his overall game. “I think I can score at all 3 levels. I’m a really good passer who can find the hot hand. I’m a good leader.”
Brelsford stated that the most improved aspect of my game is definitely his defense, although he needs to continue to work on his consistency along with getting stronger and faster.
“One thing I do on the court that people probably don’t see is my ability to pass the ball,” Brelsford explained. “In my eyes I’m a really good passer.”
In the classroom, Brelsford says he has a 3.5 GPA, and on the court he is tracking among the top guards in Maryland’s class of 2020 at the moment. What can Brelsford bring to a college program?
“I think I can bring leadership, and my ability to shoot the ball”
