Prospect Spotlight: Martice Mitchell (2020)
Bloom 2020 center Martice Mitchell has a lot of potential, but has never quite put it all together. He started to show that this fall. The 6’9” Bloom product has great height and length for the center position. Will need to add strength going forward. It was nice to see him compete and show more toughness around the hoop. Hit the glass at a nice clip and ran the floor extremely well. Got on the glass for a few put backs. Offensively he is still unrefined and timing needs to get better, but he definitely has D1 upside.
How was July with All-In Athletics?
“It went good. We played hard. We played high level players. We fought hard. Individually I thought I played well. I don’t think I got enough looks, but I am going to keep going hard every time I get out there.”
Mitchell spoke about the strengths in his game.
“My jump shot, finishing at the rim, and defense.”
He told us that Bloom is looking good heading into this season.
“We are doing good and had a good fall league at HF. We are going hard every day.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“I don’t really know yet. Wisconsin-Milwaukee has talked to be about visiting.”
