Prospect Spotlight: Jamar Madge (2018)
KANSAS CITY — A 6’2 2018 guard for Raytown South, Jamar Madge showcased his all-around game in a season opening win over St Joseph Benton last week.
At 6’2, Madge has good length and athleticism and has the ability to create offense for himself, as well as lead a team at the point guard position. Playing alongside talented guard Deon McKinney and others, Madge showcased the ability to play off the ball at the 2, or take over the point guard duties.
He knocked down several 3-pointers, got to the bucket and finished through contact, threw down an eye-opening slam in transition, and had the mid-range game working.
Madge utilizes a head fake and a one or two dribble pull-up especially well against Benton, often driving baseline, then stopping and elevating over smaller defenders for easy shots.
He put together a solid offseason competing for Team Rush on the Adidas circuit, playing alongside teammate Sevon Witt and several of the KC area’s most talented players.
He is drawing interest from several programs and we see him as a potential Division II prospect.
