Preview: Current River Challenge
The lineup is set for the First Midwest Bank Current River Challenge, which will be held at Van Buren High on November 24-25. The two-day shootout features some of the top small-school talent and teams in the Southeast Missouri region. Advance was a finalist in the Class 1 state tournament last season. Eminence returns most of their top players from a Class 1 state quarterfinals team. Thayer was a Class 2 sectional qualifier as well while Risco enjoyed a big turnaround season in advancing to a district championship game in Class 1. Dora is a young team with a lot of potential.
